Working within the Service Delivery Team at Upper Hutt City Libraries, the Senior Librarian – Children and Youth, has the primary responsibility for the planning and delivery of services, programmes and resources, for all young people of Upper Hutt.
For this role we are seeking someone that can deliver exciting and stimulating services and programmes for children and youth at Upper Hutt City Libraries. This will involve working proactively with schools and other education providers to ensure the library supports the learning needs of all young people. Working in a highly motivated team you would be sharing your knowledge and skills to help deliver a great customer experience for all our customers.
To be successful in this role you will bring a substantial background in public libraries or schools and have:

Outstanding relationship skills and a passion for providing excellent customer services
•
A great rapport with young people
•
A demonstrated ability to use initiative and take responsibility for a task from beginning to end
•
Strong leadership skills
•
A well developed understanding of library technology and future trends in libraries
•
Be capable of dealing with the public in a confident, calm and friendly manner that will bring credit to yourself and the Council.
•
A relevant library or education tertiary qualification
